What is US Business Immigration?

US immigration law allows people who have skills and talents needed in the United States to be admitted to the United States to work on a temporary or permanent basis. The US actively promotes investment to its economy, giving benefits to business people ready to invest. That's why people with business' moving to the US by establishing a US-based company is so popular. Establishing a business gives a perfect opportunity to settle in the US, as well as impressive financial prospects if wisely invested.

What Kind of Business Visas Are There?

There are 4 different kinds of US business visas. These include:

Temporary Investor Visa

Individuals who wish to work in the US by starting or investing in a US business may be eligible for an E-1 or E-2 investor visa. While not all countries are eligible, business owners and investors from those that are may qualify if they meet several criteria. Employees as well as spouses and children of the principal visa holder may also be eligible for a visa.

Immigrant Investor Visa

The EB-5 visa is a way to get your green card and permanent residency through investment. The EB-5 investor visa program enables foreigners who make an investment in a U.S. business to obtain a green card and become lawful permanent residents, and eventual citizens, of the United States. The investment can lead to a green card for the investor to permanently live and work in the United States with their spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21. The EB-5 visa program is operated by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The program was established by the United States Congress in 1990 to facilitate increased investment in the U.S. economy.

Business Expansion Visa

The L1 visa, also known as business expansion visa, is a temporary nonimmigrant visa that allows international companies with offices in the US and offices overseas to transfer certain qualified employees to their US office.

Initially, the L1 visa was created to legally transfer foreign national executives or managers with specialized or advanced knowledge to large multinational companies in the US. Now, the L1 visa for USA also helps small businesses and start-up companies expand their business and services to the United States.

If you are expanding your business to the U.S. or being transferred to an existing American business, the L-1 visa is most likely the best type of U.S. work visa for you. L-1 visas are available to employees working for companies outside the United States such as in Canada that have branches, subsidiaries, affiliates or joint venture partners in the United States.

Customer Reviews

I have now gotten my SECOND visa for working in the US with Visa Place, and I have referred several peers who have successfully gotten visas as well. The team (specifically Danielle, Fadi and Preejo) went above and beyond to ensure that I was very well taken care of. We encountered an issue in the application process (which was no fault of theirs), and the team regrouped and put all hands on deck to resolve it as soon as possible and push my approval past the finish line. It was amazing to say the least and I am so grateful that I can continue my career across the border where the vast majority of work in my industry lies.
